Requirements

  • The applicant needs to have either a Senior Certificate with Accounting as a subject or another certification in hand.
  • An extra benefit would be a post-matric certificate in financial management or an equivalent certification in a subject connected to finance.
  • Additionally needed are basic bookkeeping knowledge and computer literacy—Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of public administration, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, budgeting and expenditure control and other laws relevant to Public Finance is another requirement.
  • Understanding administrative processes, procurement prescripts, and policy interpretation abilities.
  • Being meticulous about small details. Have to be able to operate under duress. Advisory function for end users on contractual related concerns.

Roles

  • Main responsibilities include communicating with staff members needing travel plans.
  • Get monthly reconciliations of your creditors.
  • Source document filing onto the creditor’s file system.
  • Sort and handle claims.
  • Prepare a payment request.
  • Help with trip plans.
  • Airfare and car rental booking.
  • Make sure the bookings follow guidelines for cost control directed by Treasury policies.
  • Help with audit query answers.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the manager of finances.
