Description of the Data Capturer Job

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the Paediatric and Adolescent community project through the management of data and the administration of projects.

Data Capturer Principal delegated tasks and responsibilities:

The process of capturing and entering data
Gather and organize the necessary data into the appropriate data tools, as specified by the project.
To the project staff, distribute and collect relevant data, and vice versa.
Quickly addressing any and all data inaccuracies

Putting away data
Correctly storing and filing client information
Make sure that only authorized users can access the data by only allowing them in.

The monitoring and application of data quality:
Keep the HTS linkage tracker up to date and make sure it contains information of a high standard.
Make use of the data to assist in the planning of the team’s activities.
Contribute to the processes of data quality assurance

Administration of the project and storage:
Help the project manager and other members of the team with administrative tasks, such as communicating with staff, taking and distributing minutes, preparing, printing, and compiling documents and tools, coordinating the administration of meetings, and distributing project materials.

Support for the Project and Reporting:
Make sure that reporting is done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as needed.

Minimum required skills and years of experience:

An exemption from matriculation is the bare minimum requirement, and possessing a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
The process of capturing and collecting data
1 year of experience in administration or management and evaluation Computer experience in Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Excel and MS Word.
Expertise in providing support for M&E plans
Professionalism in the use of TIER.Net, DHIS, and clinical stationery
Experience interacting with facility staff and familiarity with health information relevant to South Africa, preferably at public sector facilities
Capturing and entering data quickly while maintaining accuracy is a necessary skill.
Exceptional abilities in administration as well as organization.

Data Capturer Abilities, qualifications, and characteristics:

Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others is required.
Capability to manage one’s interpersonal relationships.
Strong organizational abilities, including task and time management, the capacity to multitask, the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines, and the ability to work independently on a daily basis.
Excellent abilities in both oral and written communication, particularly report-writing.
