Driver Position Description
Anova is an NGO that empowers individuals and alters their lives. Health and quality of life motivate us to provide healthcare solutions and assistance to those who require it the most.
We are seeking a driver to provide a safe, dependable, and courteous transportation service for staff and participants;
To serve as a communication link between participants and staff;
To operate and maintain assigned vehicles;
To maintain records for vehicles and staff.
Driver Principal responsibilities and duties:
Transport personnel between the clinics and the office.
Transport employees to and from the office for weekend and holiday events.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of event-related equipment.
When required, collect and deliver equipment, documentation, etc.
Keeping track of distance traveled and managing site visits – logbook.
Immediately report any vehicle accident or damage.
Plan and assign vehicle trips on a daily basis.
Preventive Maintenance
Always ensure that the vehicle is fueled and that it is clean.
Ensure that the vehicle is regularly serviced and maintained (i.e., tires, brake pads, etc.) and that it complies with general safety standards.
As required, prepare accident and incident reports.
Communicate with the Office Manager regarding renewals of vehicle licenses.
Observance of applicable policies, procedures, and standards
The observance of traffic regulations. Driving defensively is practiced.
Compliance with Anova’s procedures and policies.
Administrative Support
Provide additional services as directed by management when not transporting people or goods.
Driver Minimum required qualifications, experience, and skills:
Code 10 License to drive.
PDP – Permit for Professional Drivers.
Matric or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of two years of driving experience.
Communication skills and knowledge of the local language.
Capability to uphold a professional appearance.
Capability to meet deadlines and effectively manage time.
Ability to maintain a positive outlook.
The capacity to function effectively as a team member.
