Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Job: The incumbent will be responsible for providing a professional cleaning service in the designated geographic area. He/she will ensure customer satisfaction, business retention, and profitability while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience in the cleaning, industrial, and commercial industries, or a comparable service business is required.
- Matric and higher qualifications are desirable.
- Exposure to marketing a service will be beneficial.
- Exposure to industrial relations at the shop floor level will be beneficial.
- Preferably with a sales or operations background.
- Computer literate (MS Office, with decent Excel skills)
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Job Duties:
- Ensure that attendance registers are marked daily at the start of the shift, that labor allocation is correct, and that any adjustments on the attendance sheet are initiated.
- Maintain proper control of all equipment in compliance with fixed asset policies and procedures.
- Ensure that store orders are authorized by the regional manager and timely submitted to the stores department.
- Responsible for maintaining discipline by applying the company’s disciplinary code and procedures, as well as attending to grievances.
- Quickly respond to everyday messages and complaints.
- Ensure that employees are notified of changes that affect them with relation to company policies.
- Create contingency plans for strikes and stay-aways.
- Appraise personnel through verbal direction and performance reviews at the managerial level and higher.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures (retrenchment, promotion, etc.).
- Conduct regular inspections at all sites.
- Attend scheduled appointments with clients. Where these meetings require recording, this should be done, along with copies of the minutes given. All problems will be addressed promptly. Call rosters will be submitted to management.
- Responsible for all engagements, pay rate modifications, and dismissals that have been approved by the Regional Manager, as well as ensuring that all required documentation is completed.
- Promote the company’s whole portfolio of non-recurring business (specials).
- Attend monthly Area Manager meetings with Regional Managers to discuss monthly wage queries, leave, costs, and other issues as they arise.
- Responsible for conducting monthly meetings with supervisory personnel, including submitting the agenda and meeting minutes.
- Responsible for compliance with all regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or any other law or act that may apply to the topic of safety.
- Investigate debtor’s queries with clients and collect cheques from clients when requested by regional managers or the debtor’s department.
