Description of the Job

Another exciting opportunity is currently available in our department at Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA).
In order to fill the position of Artisan Utilities: Mechanical, which is located in Phoenix, we are looking for a talented individual who possesses the necessary skills and practical experience.
The individual who lands the position will be responsible for reporting directly to the Team Leader Utilities in Phoenix.
Maintaining (inspecting and adjusting) and repairing line equipment in a proactive manner in accordance with maintenance targets in order to continuously improve line efficiency, maximize equipment availability, and minimize losses and risk.

Principal Obligations and Responsibilities

PREPARED MAINTENANCE

  • Participate in the meeting to plan maintenance, which includes making suggestions and elaborating on the work that needs to be done.
    During the planned maintenance window, you are required to carry out the work in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule that was provided by the project planner.
  • Where work that has been scheduled cannot be completed, provide feedback to the Maintenance Planner so that they can provide direction. In order to accomplish this, it may be necessary to reschedule the work or to prioritize existing work.
  • Assist other members of the team in carrying out their responsibilities in order to support the maintenance periods that have been planned.
  • In order to support the planned maintenance, you are required to finish any administration and SAP tasks.
  • Participate in post mortems concerning maintenance in order to provide feedback on issues, opportunities, and lessons learned from maintenance activities.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

  • The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring that the cleaning, lubrication, and inspection procedures are carried out in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
  • In accordance with the maintenance schedule, carry out various activities that are considered routine maintenance.
    In the event that problems have been discovered during routine maintenance, it is imperative that these issues be resolved by employing the appropriate problem-solving techniques.
    Additional resources may be brought in to assist in the event that they are required.
  • In accordance with the CM schedule, you are obligated to carry out condition monitoring activities in situations where these tasks have been assigned to the Technician.

RUNNING REPAIRS

  • If you are asked to do so, you are required to either assist the Shift Artisans in carrying out repairs or participate in the process of carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment.
    Whenever you are performing repairs, you should first evaluate the issue and decide what course of action to take.
  • In situations where it is necessary, specialized assistance may be requested.
    This could include resources from within the organization, such as Instrument Technicians, or resources from outside the organization, such as Contractors or Suppliers.
  • When repairs indicate that significant work is required, such as re-wiring a motor, this must be transferred to the engineering workshop so that it can be attended to.
  • It is important to check that the problem has been resolved in the areas where running repairs have been performed.
  • You are responsible for completing the administrative tasks that are associated with any runs of repairs that the Technician has performed.
    Each and every SAP input is included here.
    It is imperative that you inform the Maintenance Planner of any situations in which running repairs are unable to be carried out.
    This will ensure that the work is scheduled for the subsequent planned Window.

RESOLVING OF PROBLEMS

  • When problems have arisen during activities that are considered to be routine, they should be resolved by applying the appropriate problem-solving approach.
  • In situations where it is necessary, call in additional resources to assist in problem solving, or escalate the situation to the Engineering Controller asking for direction.
    Assist other members of the team in resolving issues when they are requested to do so.
  • Participate in FFAs when they are requested.

HOUSING CARE AND PERSONAL SAFETY

  • At all times, all operations must be carried out in a safe manner, and unsafe work practices must be identified and brought to light in order for them to be rectified.
  • Ensure that legal, NOSA, environmental, and any other applicable legislation is adhered to in its entirety.
  • Carry out the work in accordance with the instructions provided for the work and adhere to the standards and procedures established by the SAB.
  • During the course of the execution of duties, carry out housekeeping responsibilities and apply the principles of 5S.

IN GENERAL

The following pieces of machinery must be started, operated, and maintained:

  • 11kV and 380V transformers and reticulation
  • Air compressors and dryers with pressures of 7 and 40 bar
  • Steam boilers
  • Refrigeration plants
  • Water treatment (both nano and RO)
  • Pumps, gearboxes, and filters
  • Implemented small capital projects following requests for their implementation
  • Delegated and monitored the allocation of work
  • Responsible for managing both personal growth and performance

Capabilities, Experience, and Education

Recognized Trade Test qualifications in Mechanical and as well as a wireman’s license for both single and three phase cables.
At least four to five years of relevant technical experience working in the FMCG industry.
