REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 10 results.
A certificate in the assurance of the safety of food.
An additional advantage will be gained from having between six months and two years of experience working in a hospital setting.
Capability to work effectively under time constraints and a willingness to work irregular shifts, weekends, and long hours.
Maintain a healthy body for the task at hand. Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication abilities are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate various pieces of equipment and perform routine responsibilities within the food service unit. Carry out the cleaning tasks that you have been assigned to ensure that the unit maintains the appropriate levels of cleanliness and safety.
Cleaning of pans, equipment, floors, utensils, drains, grids, and storerooms as well as the freezer room and freezers themselves.
Removing waste containers and dustbins, as well as cleaning and disinfecting the dustbins themselves. Unpacking of provisions into various cold and frozen storage spaces as well as other areas.

Meal preparation and portioning for patients, including both normal and special diets, in accordance with established protocols.
In addition to cleanup duties, preparation of party meals and decorations are also required.
Maintain compliance with the established rules and regulations that govern food service.
Carry out studies on plate waste and customer satisfaction in accordance with standard operating procedures for food services.
Have the ability to work shifts as scheduled and rotate to different areas of the unit when necessary.
