Job Description.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Longmeadow is looking for a plumber to join their team. The primary function of this role will be to assemble, install, or repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems in accordance with plumbing code criteria.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
2-5 years of plumbing experience.
Plumbing Trade Certificate from an Accredited Institution.
Relevant experience in a warehouse setting

Advantageous:

Qualified artisan with relevant experience in a warehouse setting.

Job Specifications…

Interpret drawings and building specifications to determine the arrangement of pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing components.
Check plumbing systems for leaks and troubleshoot other issues with the proper equipment and materials for repair.
Choose materials based on your budget, location, and intended use of the project.
Replace or repair broken drainage pipes, clogged drains, and faucets.
To patch leaks, test pipe systems, and monitor pressure gauges.
Perform scheduled maintenance.
Coordinate, diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain plumbing systems.
Ensure that all problems are fixed promptly and left in a safe condition.
Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to locate and replace damaged components. Inspects the structure to determine which blockages should be avoided in order to prevent structural weakness caused by pipe installation.
Locates and indicates the position of pipes, pipe connections, and passage holes in walls and floors.
Interpret building plans and working drawings to establish the work aids required and the order of installation.
Install water pipes and fittings, including sinks and toilets.
Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures before installing them.
Assemble the fittings and valves for installation.
Set up and maintain water supply systems.
Install additional plumbing fixtures such as sinks, bathtubs, toilets, and water heaters.
Maintain health and safety requirements and follow plumbing codes.
Compile a report on any plumbing incidents that happened, as well as a summary of the actions taken.
Estimate labor and materials for small plumbing remodel jobs.
Recommend repair needs that may eliminate ongoing and future repairs.
Maintain daily maintenance and installation logs and participate in the company’s on-call plumbing arrangements.
Assist with office administration, such as preparing quotes, doing work assessments, and providing departmental recommendations.
Liaise with external contractors as needed.
Keep an exact record of your working hours, work descriptions, and materials.
Follow Dis-Chem policies and standard operating procedures.
Follow health and safety norms and regulations.
