Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Store Driver for their store in Die Boord, Stellenbosch. You will be responsible for delivering goods to customers on time, efficiently, and professionally.
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Driver’s license.
- Willing and able to work retail hours or shifts.
- Previous experience in a similar position
Job Summary:
- Deliver products to customer locations in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
- Be open to learning about the different dispatch functions.
- Ensure that the correct products are delivered to the correct customer within the specified timeframe.
- Ensure fridge line deliveries are prioritized and transported using cooler boxes and cold packs.
- Use the shortest and most efficient route to the customer, and return to the store.
- Return to the store right after delivery so the vehicle can be used for a second or third delivery.
- After delivery, ensure that the vehicle is repacked to prevent boxes from falling and damaging the stock or vehicle.
- Be fully accountable for all damages and losses incurred during the delivery process.
- Provide special care when delivering fragile and risky goods.
- To meet company standards, comply with the minimum efficiency and accuracy standards.
- Follow the delivery/pickup instructions from the manager.
- Ensure that all collections/store returns/inter-branches are properly checked, signed for, and returned to the receiving area.
- Ensure that all delivery paperwork is signed on delivery.
- Ensure that you have accurate names and addresses of customers.
- Ensure that all invoices recorded on the delivery log sheet are available and accurately recorded.
- Ensure all invoices are signed correctly, and report any discrepancies to the relevant manager.
- Follow the company vehicle policy at all times.
- Complete and keep an accurate vehicle logbook.
- Process payments for all transactions using EFT and cash.
- Ensure the vehicle is never left unsupervised during the delivery process.
- Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned and washed.
- Inspect the vehicle for any defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips; report any concerns to the manager.
- Report any accidents or incidents that affect drivers or company equipment.
- Follow the road traffic rules and regulations outlined in the National Road Traffic Act.
- Take responsibility for any traffic fines assigned to the vehicle you drive.
- Develop effective and efficient relationships with internal and external customers to improve operating efficiencies.
- Establish long-term customer relationships by providing prompt and courteous service.
- Maintain professional behaviour when dealing with customers.
- Address complaints from clients, compliments, requests to management, give feedback.
