Description of the Job

The Bryan Park Store in Johannesburg, which is owned and operated by Dis-Chem Pharmacies, is looking for a Cleaner.
In addition to ensuring that the store is clean and well-organized, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Dis-Chem standard is maintained throughout the whole store.

Particulars of the Job.

On a daily basis, ensure that the Head Office and the community areas are meticulously cleaned and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
A high level of cleanliness should be maintained in every section of the Head Office, so it is important to establish routines to accomplish this.
At all times, make sure that the restrooms and the canteen are clean and that they are stocked with the supplies that are required.

Ensure that you are present at all times, throughout the days that the business is open, to clean up as needed.
Before disposing of the waste, please check to see that it does not contain any items or valuable things.
Every day, in accordance with regular operating standards, vacuum the carpeted spaces, which include the meeting and training rooms.
A weekly vacuuming of the other carpeted spaces is required in accordance with regular operating practices.

In accordance with standard operating procedures, dust should be removed from desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers, and other items in offices and meeting rooms.
While performing duties, ensure that you comply with the health and safety laws of the sector.
You should make sure that no cleaning utensils are left unattended on the floor of the workplace and that they are put away when they are not being used.
When you are cleaning the floor, make sure that the wet floor sign is displayed in a way that is visible from both ends.

Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor, and be able to interact with clients even when they are present at the location where cleaning is being done.
When customers ask for assistance, you should direct them to the appropriate floor or individuals.
Communicate with both the workers and the guests in a way that is both straightforward and friendly.
Find solutions to small issues or bring them to the attention of the team leader for assistance.

Ensure that the kitchens and bathrooms are adequately stocked and that they are cleaned in accordance with the requirements set by Dis-Chem.
Notify the team leader of any items that are either low or out of stock.
It is important to inform the team leader about any equipment or things in the areas of operation that are not functioning properly.
This includes doors, handles, locks, taps, cisterns, lights, switches, and so on.
