Description of the Driver/Cleaner Job

In order to fill the position of Driver/Cleaner at our Durban branch, which is based at the Depot, Europcar Van Rental, a leading provider in the market for the rental of commercial vehicles, is soliciting applications from candidates who are honest, trustworthy, and highly responsible and who also have previous experience driving.

Perspective on the Driver/Cleaner Position

Supporting the achievement of the branch’s financial and customer service goals is the primary objective of this position.
This will be accomplished by ensuring that each renter is provided with a vehicle that meets our stringent quality assurance requirements and is spotlessly clean, as well as by providing customers with service that is both prompt and courteous.

Specific Role Responsibilities Job Outputs:

  • Cleaning of the interior and exterior of the vehicle to our strict specifications.
  • Quality control of vehicles, including the detection and reporting of vehicles with expired licenses and any other problems that do not meet our quality standards.
  • After each rental, refueling the vehicles, checking the pressure in the tires, as well as the oil, water, and other fluids.
  • Adhering to all of our protocols regarding the delivery of vehicles to our clients.
  • Managing vehicle check-ins in accordance with the procedures established by the company, quality control, and claims.
  • Ensuring that the yard and all other areas in the immediate vicinity are kept clean.
  • Preserving the honor of the organization by adhering to high standards of moral conduct and watching out for the financial well-being as well as the best interests of our clients and the company itself.
  • Other duties on request.

Qualifications, as well as Previous Work Experience

  • A valid driver’s license with Code 8 that is unendorsed and at least two years’ driving experience
  • Familiarity with computers, even rudimentary knowledge will do.
  • Must be fully bilingual and able to communicate effectively in English with both internal and external customers.
  • The ability to interpret a map.
