Traffic Officer Requirements :

The 12th grade(Matric).
Certificate of Initial Traffic Training
ITO (III), National Diploma in Road Traffic Management NQF 6 or an equivalent qualification are all required.
Code B, Applied to Valid Driver’s License
Certificate of Registration as a Traffic Officer, issued by the Department of Roads and Transport in the country of registration.
Certification of handgun proficiency in accordance with the requirements of the Firearms Control Act.
No Previous Convictions
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on a Computer

Traffic Officer Superior abilities in both interpersonal relationships and communication

Adaptability, analytical thinking, empowerment, communication, leadership skills, presentation skills, conflict and stress management skills, negotiation skills, and presentation skills are some of the skills and competencies associated with vocation.

A person who is professional, hardworking, highly motivated, and self-disciplined, and who possesses good organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.

A minimum of two to three years of experience working as a Traffic Law Enforcement officer for a Local Government Authority.

ASSIGNED TASKS

Regulation of Traffic Through:
Taking care of point duty
Physiologically guiding the flow of traffic
Escorting of the traffic

Enforcement of traffic laws through:
Issuing citations to members of the general public who violate the Road Traffic Act as well as any other legislation that supports it.
Noting down their particulars, along with the type of violation that was committed.
Presenting the option to either pay the fine or show up in court.
The reduction of criminal activity through the use of highly visible patrols or regularly scheduled roadblocks.

Execution of warrants of arrest and service of summonses were performed.
Accidental recording accomplished
Details of the accident are being taken down and recorded.
Documentation in written form
Completing the Duty Accident Register (DAR) forms for officers

Administration of the By-Laws of the Municipality
Monitoring the policies of the council and making sure they are followed.
Keeping an eye out for people who violate the rules and regulations, then either fining or arresting them as appropriate.
Carry out any additional unscheduled, related ad hoc tasks as directed by management on an as-needed basis.
