The annual salary for this position is R171 537 (Level 04).
CENTER: Roodeplaat in the province of Gauteng
MANDATORY CONDITIONS:
Applicants are required to have a certificate demonstrating that they have completed Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) Level 3 (Basic education (literacy and numeracy)).
A current and valid driver’s license (Code C1) is required.
A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
Knowledge pertinent to the TRACTOR DRIVER position:
Putting in work on a tractor.
Methods used in farming.
Working the land on a farm using various implements like rippers, ploughs, tillers, and so on.
Occupationally relevant skills:
The ability to drive.
Verbal and written communication skills are required.
Willing to put in extra hours of work.
THE DUTY OF THE TRACTOR DRIVER:
To assist in the physical execution of a variety of general farming activities, such as land cultivation, drive a tractor while various implements (such as ploughs, rippers, planters, crop sprayers, and so on) are attached to it. The act of planting.
The act of tilling.
Gathering in.
The transport of a wide variety of goods.
Grass cutting on the lawn.
Use of insecticides and fungicides.
Treatment with (chemical) manure and fertilizer.
Irrigation, as well as general upkeep.
Putting out fires.
Elimination of debris from ditches.
Activities involving fencing.
Carrier out administrative support activities in addition to vehicle maintenance, including, among other things, the following:
Ensure that the vehicle is stored in a secure location, that it is cleaned, and that it undergoes routine maintenance (such as changing the tires, checking the water, oil, and tyre pressure, etc.).
Ensure that the implements are stored in a secure location, cleaned regularly, and are given routine maintenance.
Keep a logbook of the miles traveled by each farm vehicle at the end of each month and report on it.
Ensure that any problems are reported to the Mechanical Workshop in a timely manner in order to prevent any further damage.
Help with the distribution of fuel and oil, as well as their receipt.
Carry out the activities that are routine in regard to the production of crops.
Carry out the necessary procedures with regard to the infrastructure.
Loading and unloading cargo is something that can be accomplished by operating specialized machinery such as harvesters, drilling equipment, excavators, and so on.
Agricultural roadways require repair and upkeep.
Take away all of the material, including loading it up and transporting it.
