Summary of the Job Advertisement

Our operations are currently seeking an experienced General Worker to be based at our Epol Pretoria contract.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• Physical fitness
• Dependableness

• Work in a safe manner, which means ensuring that all safety requirements are met;
• Be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays;
• Have a record that is free of criminal convictions
• You are required to use your own, dependable transportation to get to and from work.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Capable of following any and all reasonable directions given by the Supervisor
• Washing of vehicles
• Offloading of soya vehicles at the siding
• Fuelling of vehicles
• Loading of vehicles – when required
• General tasks such as :
  • Cleaning oil/fuel spills on Site /Farms
  • Daily cleaning of Workshop /weighbridge area
  • Check each compartment and verify that each compartment is completely empty prior to loading.
• Before switching from bovine feed deliveries to poultry or swine feed deliveries, check to see that the trailer compartments have been flushed (cleaned).
• Ensure that the correct feed is loaded from the designated bin, then close the bin and visually inspect the feed’s quality.
• Ensure that none of the compartments are about to become overfull while the vehicle is being loaded.
• When the driver has finished loading each compartment, he or she will gradually move the vehicle forward until the next compartment is positioned directly below the loading outlet.
• It is imperative that the assistant be positioned in such a way that they are safe.
• Extreme caution is required.
• Once the loading procedure is finished, the truck assistant is responsible for securing the compartment doors.
• You are responsible for ensuring that samples are brought to the farm with each order that is delivered.
• The Distribution office will provide boot covers, which must be worn while making deliveries to all poultry and swine farms.
• These covers must be worn at all times.
• Employees are not allowed to wander between the houses before or after discharging feed and are required to remain in the vehicle at all times.
• Proper company image must be maintained both in transit and on the premises of the customer, including proper maintenance of the equipment and appropriate attire.
