Position Summary

Dis-Chem Baby City is looking for a Sales Assistant to join their team at their store in Blubird.
The provision of comprehensive assistance to customers by means of first-rate customer service would be the primary goal of the role.
Among the responsibilities associated with these roles will be the upkeep of high merchandising standards, the processing of payments at the point of sale, and the maintenance of stock levels.

Minimum Requirement.

Grade 12 / Matric
Experience in retail sales for a maximum of six months

Advantageous:

Certification in the Management of Retail Businesses
1 year of previous work experience in the Retail sector

Role and Responsibilities:

Management needs to be informed about low stock levels, items that are currently out of stock, damaged stock, and expired stock.
Contribute to the overall stocktaking process as well as the counting of the stock files.
When necessary, assist with the loading and unloading of stock onto and off of vehicles.
Locate and report immediately to management any stock that has been compromised or has expired.
After unpacking the stock, make sure the boxes are squashed down and brought to the appropriate location.

Make sure that complete product lines are always stocked on the shelves and that they are organized neatly.
Keep the inventory on the shelves and check it regularly to make sure it has not passed its sell-by date.
Restock the merchandise as necessary to ensure the highest possible number of sales.
Make sure that the labels, displays, and prices of the merchandise are always accurate, and make sure to report any price discrepancies to management.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new product information in order to effectively assist customers.
Make sure that each item of merchandise is handled with care to avoid suffering any losses.

Construct reliable displays in a timely manner so that promotions can take place.
It is important to make sure that monthly promotions are carried out correctly in order to achieve maximum sales.
Make sure that the appropriate posters and signage are hung up in time for the promotions that are scheduled to take place.
Check to see that promotional tickets, price tickets, posters, and the like are hung within the allotted amount of time.

Make sure that any stock that was given away as part of a promotion is removed as soon as the promotion is over.
Maintain an accurate cash flow and make sure to follow all of the correct procedures for cash handling.
Handle all of the purchase transactions, including the receipt, verification, and processing of all payments, including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and any other forms of payment that are acceptable.
Check that every item, stock, and script that is being shipped out has been scanned and paid for.
Processing will be performed on all loyalty cards, including those belonging to accelerated partners.

Establish a professional relationship with the customers and offer assistance and advice that is personable, helpful, and courteous to each and every customer.
Share both the positive and negative feedback received from customers with management.
Ensure that all customer stock questions are attended to, and that they are both resolved and dealt with.
