In the Northern Cape, this position will be based at the Gamsberg site, which is located close to Aggeneys.
The description
The purpose of this position is to supervise the activities of the Stores in order to guarantee the issuing and receiving of goods as well as stock control in accordance with the requests of the Clients and the procedures developed by Minopex.
Obligations and Responsibilities for:
Control of the Inventory:
- Arrange and carry out regular cycle counts in accordance with the company’s policy and to ensure that sound stock control procedures are followed.
- Supervise the processes of the stores to ensure the highest possible level of accuracy and accountability in accordance with the standards of the organization.
- Planning, scheduling and preparation for annual stock counts
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform / recommend appropriate action
- Investigate and resolve inventory related queries (goods / quality discrepancies, warranties and guarantees) to ensure availability of stock
- Maintain the binning and labelling of stock items to ensure efficient stock control and identification
- Ensure that stock items are correctly allocated, stored, and stacked in accordance with product requirements and sound storing practices, such as the storage of hazardous materials and the display of the Materials Safety Data Sheet
- Answer questions about the goods that have been received and resolve any discrepancies in accordance with the procedures of the supply chain.
On a daily basis, monitor re-order points and issue requisitions in order to guarantee the continuous availability of stock.
- Print a variety of reports in relation to stock control procedures, such as exception reports, stock reports, and availability reports.
Will analyze, comment, and make recommendations when it is necessary.
Will expedite items that are overdue or outstanding.
Will control the month-end procedures of the Receiving and Issuing sections.
Will maintain the cleanliness of the stores in accordance with the group’s policies and standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
National Senior Certificate
Both experience and expertise are required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the mining, mineral processing, or related industries in the areas of issuing, receiving, and stock control
- Knowledge of store processes and inventory management
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
- Supervisory skills
