We are looking for an HTS Officer who will focus on mentoring facility-based counsellor on HIV testing services (HTS) and TB screening activities that will assist Capricorn in reaching their 959595 targets.
This position will be based in Capricorn.

Principal Obligations

Make sure that the Priority population gets checked out at the facilities.
Make sure that all clients who have tested positive for HIV are started on antiretroviral therapy (ART).
In-service training and mentoring should be provided.
Provision of facilities for carrying out HIV quality assurance and HIV counseling in accordance with the guidelines for counselling and testing

Participate in the team in order to give support and coordinate the activities of the assigned programs that will be implemented from the community level up to the facility level.
All HTS activities should begin with early participation in the analysis of bottlenecks and gaps, followed by early implementation of the analysis.
In order to support the program, aligned tools should be implemented.
Carry out an evaluation using the SPI-ART checklist in order to get facilities ready for an external assessment.

Mentoring should be used to help ensure that facilities meet their HTS goals.
Client file audits on ART should be carried out.
It is your responsibility to directly supervise the Anova linkage officers.
Implementation of quality improvement frameworks at Department of Health facilities and efforts to fortify relationships with communities in the immediate area

Required Minimums in Terms of Experience, Education, and Qualifications

A degree equivalent to a bachelor’s in Development Studies, Social Science, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience in the Health Grade 12 field ranging from at least three to five years (Matric)
Accreditation at the national level in HIV/AIDS (trained in basic HIV counselling and testing)
HTS experience spanning three years, in addition to work with people currently afflicted with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)
The benefit of having previous supervisory experience
Educated in the art of HTS mentoring
A familiarity with the DoH’s guidelines and protocols for HTS
Superior oral and written communication abilities in English, as well as strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to write reports
Having the ability to communicate in Northern Sotho (Sepedi)
able to work a variety of shifts as required and without constant or close supervision, as well as being willing to do so
