A basic salary of R191 316 per year is included in the job description or R15900 p.m.

AIM OF THE ADVERT :

The purpose of this service is to provide upkeep and maintenance in and around the Training and Development Centre located at Fennell Depot.

SUBSTANTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out some fundamental do-it-your Electrical work, basic plumbing work, painting surfaces, cleaning gutters, replacing tiles, replacing and replacing window mechanisms, daily sweeping of grounds around the Training Centre, managing the garden by removing weeds, cutting grass, making beds, pruning trees, trimming edges, watering the garden, picking up papers and other debris around the Training Centre, treating the soil with fertilizer twice a year, keeping and updating an inventory register of the tools of trade at all times, and maintaining appropriate housekeeping in storerooms and filling rooms are essential responsibilities.

Conduct inspections and provide the supervisor with reports on an ad hoc basis regarding the completion of maintenance and repair work that was performed by contractors.
Make sure that all health and safety measures are followed, and make sure that any accidents, near misses, or incidents that involve safety are reported right away to the Occupational Health and Safety Representatives as well as the direct supervisor within the allotted amount of time.

Minimum Requirements :

Grade 12/Matric
A minimum of one year of experience working as a Handyman working in the maintenance and repair of facilities.
