Description of the General Worker Job
Ensure that you clean the Warehouse first thing in the morning.
Provides assistance to the picker by using a pallet jack to move inventory into the appropriate cages. Putting the pallets in the cages in the right way, being careful to keep everything straight and organized.
Using a Pallet Jack to unload trucks, then putting the stock in the appropriate stores as directed by the Supervisor
After the Dispatch Supervisor has finished checking the stock, make full pallets by repacking the half pallets in the cages that have been assigned to them before loading.
Wrap the Products with shrink wrap starting from the Blue Chep pallet working your way up to the top of the pallet, tightly, to prevent stock from moving around on the Pallets while they are being transported. Constantly look around for pieces of wood and material that are lying around and pick it up and throw it into the Waste Bins in the Warehouse.
When the reach truck driver is out of the office, you are expected to assist with loading the trucks.
Completing Checklists (Checklists for Temperature, Pallet Jack, and Hygiene); Helping with Scanning Stock Into Loading Areas.
Please use the provided mop to clean up any spills.
Please inform the Supervisor of any issues that you find while working in the Warehouse.
General Worker Competencies Needed
Matric or its equivalent
A minimum of two years’ worth of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Capacity to work efficiently, autonomously, and cooperatively at all levels of the organization
Gaining experience in the military as a whole will be to your advantage.
Educated in the use of computers Superior ability to communicate on all fronts at all levels Accuracy and promptness are absolutely necessary.
Capacity to continue working and making decisions despite being under duress willing to put in long shifts, overtime, work weekends and holidays, as well as regular ones
Capability of functioning in environments extremely low in temperature
A List of General Worker Duties and Obligations

Make full pallets after stock has been checked by the Dispatch Supervisor by repacking half pallets in the assigned cages before loading.
Offloading trucks with a Pallet Jack and placing the stock in the assigned stores as instructed by the Supervisor.
