Objective Of The Position:
- To instruct designated modules.
- To engage and prepare students for evaluations by monitoring module progress, identifying and assisting at-risk students, providing general administrative assistance, and preparing assessments in collaboration with the Central Academic Team.
- Assisting the Programme Coordinator in monitoring and analyzing academic outcomes to assess module performance and identify “at-risk modules.”
Responsibilities And Obligations:
- Conduct lectures and interact with students according to module-specific criteria in accordance with module schedules.
- Oversee resources, especially educational materials, and coordinate with the Information Centre.
- Revise the Learning Management System and furnish comments to pupils.
- Engage and prepare kids for evaluations, identify at-risk pupils, and formulate assessments in alignment with Central Academic Team directives.
- Track student involvement and evaluation submissions, implementing appropriate escalation measures.
- Engage in and contribute to academic meetings across all disciplines.
- Assist part-time lecturers with faculty obligations.
- Evaluate, assess, and examine student module outcomes.
- Provide academic assistance to the Program Coordinator by analyzing outcomes and monitoring individual modules to evaluate performance and identify at-risk modules.
- Create and design instructional materials to support module-specific objectives.
- Facilitate student registration and orientation as necessary.
- Facilitate student registration and orientation as necessary.
- Engage in scholarly discipline or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) research, producing specified research outputs in alignment with the institution’s or brand’s research objectives, while also enhancing the brand’s teaching and learning practices.
- Academic Professional Development: fulfill a specified number of academic professional development interventions within an academic cycle (one year) that enhance the Brand’s Teaching-Learning practices and individual professional academic standing.
Essential Prerequisites:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline with concentrations in Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, or Management Accounting/Financial Management, completed to at least the third-year level of NQF Level 7.
- A postgraduate qualification (Honors or equivalent) in Financial Accounting or a relevant business discipline is preferred. NQF Level 8
- Alternatively: A pertinent post-graduate accounting degree emphasizing ethics through the third year.
- Familiarity with higher education instruction is beneficial, though not a prerequisite.
Essential Competencies:
- Comprehension of the South African higher education systems and their regulatory framework.
- Comprehension and insight into Teaching & Learning theories and strategies.
- The capacity to deliver student assistance services.
- The capacity to engage with and acquire knowledge regarding digital academic venues.
- The capacity to manage a constantly shifting environment and to adjust to developing circumstances.
- Capacity to comply with legislation and rigorously observe work protocols.
- Deadline-oriented and capable of performing effectively under pressure.
Operating Hours:
Classes are scheduled from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
