Job Advert Summary
- The Mechanical Assistant will support the Mechanical Technician and Artisan in their tasks.
- Conduct minor mechanical repairs, transport tools, and maintain cleanliness in workplaces.
- Perform mechanical inspections and report any hazardous situations to the Supervisor and/or craftsman.
Essential Criteria
- Grade 12 or N3 in Mechanical Engineering.
- An N6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with mechanical tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in executing modest mechanical repairs.
- A Mechanical Trade Test will be beneficial.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe operational protocols
Essential Responsibilities
- Transporting hand tools.
- To sanitize workshops and workspaces upon job completion.
- Provide assistance with fundamental mechanical repairs on production machinery.
- Perform mechanical inspections of plants and pump stations, and report any hazardous problems to the supervisor.
- Facilitate compliance with health and safety regulations.
