Junior Fire Fighter MANDATORY CONDITIONS
Literacy in the fundamentals and Grade 10.
Having completed Grade 12 is an added advantage.
A driver’s license that is currently valid is a plus.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills;
Fluency in both English and Spanish required.
Capability to listen to and carry out instructions that have been provided.
Physical fitness, along with the skills and experience necessary to perform manual labor.
A person who is self-disciplined and works hard.
A minimum of one year of experience that is relevant in the fields of road construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation.
Experience working in a general capacity for a local government authority will be advantageous.
Junior Fire Fighter ASSIGNED TASKS
In charge of loading and unloading materials and equipment belonging to the section while wearing the appropriate personal protective clothing that was provided to them by the management of the section.
During the time that municipal roads are being worked on, put up signs alerting drivers that there are workers in the area.
Sweep and clean the area around the working area of responsibility using a variety of different pieces of equipment and tools designed for manual labor.
This will ensure that the environment is clean.
Upkeep of paved and gravel roads, as well as storm drainage systems.
Carry out any type of manual labor that may be requested of you by either the supervisor or the superintendent of the section.
adherence to all of the supervisor’s legal instructions in order to maximize productivity and facilitate the section’s efficient operation.
It is your responsibility to carry out any and all additional related ad hoc tasks and duties that may be requested or required by management (your supervisor) from time to time.
