Requirements
- Nursing Assistant registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) include qualification and verification of current registration.
- As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you must be able to deliver basic quality nursing care to patients.
- Must be able to work in high-pressure conditions.
- Successful applicants will report to both the enrolled nurse and the professional nurse.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain the respect and dignity of patients and their families.
Duties
- To provide nursing care that results in enhanced health service delivery while adhering to the Batho-Pele principles and the six Ministerial Priorities.
- To execute duties and functions proficiently and within the area of practice.
- Ensuring patient observation and meeting their basic needs, which include oxygen supply, nutrition, fluid excretion, electrolyte balance, and a safe therapeutic environment.
- Ability to screen people for health-related disorders such as tuberculosis, HIV, and COVID-19.
- Establish standards, methods, and criteria for quality nursing.
- Report any irregularities to the professor’s nurse.
- Maintain positive working relationships with nurses and other stakeholders.
- Continuous patient surveillance and reporting of anomalies.
- Ensure that human, material, and financial resources are properly utilized.
- Ability to work in a team
