POSITION : Handyman

LOCATION : PPC Meyerton

REPORTS TO : Foreman( Mechinical/ Electrical)

NUMBER OF POSITIONS : 1

DATE OF VACANCY : Immediate

To provide assistance to qualified artisans in response to both planned and unplanned work in order to guarantee the highest possible availability of plants, including performance of maintenance and operation of sweepers.

Certain Minimum Prerequisites

Matric
Qualifications pertinent to the position from an Accredited Service Provider on N2 (Machine Handyman’s course)
A driver’s license that is still valid will be an advantage.

CONSIDERATION AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant for one year Previous experience in the mechanical field will be advantageous.
Experience working as a machine handyman in a heavy industrial or mining environment
A license to operate a forklift will be advantageous.

Competence in Behavioral and Other Areas

Strong propensity toward locating the underlying causes of problems and finding solutions to them
Self-disciplined, proactive, and solution-oriented in their approach
Capacity to operate effectively in challenging working conditions
It is not afraid of heights.

OBLIGATIONS

For the purpose of ensuring that high levels of availability, dependability, and serviceability of plant, equipment, and tools are maintained through the application of company maintenance practices, principles, and procedures:
Achieve a satisfactory level of service quality
Maintain compliance with all of the Engineering Standards and approved business processes.
Observe all applicable legislative standards in their entirety.

Maximize the performance of assets, which includes the capacity of plants and equipment to produce at full capacity.
Enhance the evaluation of usage (both availability and dependability).
The observance of all applicable legal requirements and the safe operation of all machinery, tools, and pieces of equipment.
A high level of customer service should be provided to both internal and external customers in order to ensure:

Meet the requirements of the customers.
Complaints from customers that are valid
Utilization of the most effective business procedures
Adhere to the principles of Jabali
