1. SENIOR PROCESS CONTROL ASSISTANT – MONITORING (Vereeniging)
The role includes collecting samples at designated locations, managing purification processes, carry out analysis with the use of lab equipments and report to the Process Supervisor-Water Purification.
The minimum qualifications desired by the company include having a completed Grade 12 qualification, must have fundamental understanding or knowledge of water treatment and use of lab equipments. A valid driver’s license is need, a minimum of code B and you should be able to pass the company’s K53 test and safety training.
Selected applicants will have the following tasks to complete:
- Executing the collection and analysis of samples.
- Informing Supervisor.
- Reporting deviations of water samples.
- Inform Supervisor of issues or challenges.
Additional: the candidate should posses knowledge in safety procedures, maths basics and site protocols/rules.
Skills and competencies:

2. PROCESS CONTROL ASSISTANT SEDIMENTATION (Vereeniging)
The Process Control Assistant is responsible for carrying out assistant roles to the Supervisor for general work, closing and opening of valves, installations and monitor machinery operations.
The Minimum Requirements are as follows:
- Completed Grade 12/matric.
- Fundamental knowledge in water treatment process.
- Able to work at heights
- Will to go through Safety training
Selected applicants will be responsible for the following:
- Manually operate valves/gates
- Perform installations and operations of pumps/conveyors.
- Housekeeping.
- Be available to assist during isolations and installations of handrails, gates, winches and pipes.
Skills and knowledge necessary for this role are:
- Working safe
- Basic knowledge in Water treatment.
- Housekeeping
- Communication skills
- Able to work in a team(team player)
- Aware of dangers or unsafe conditions

3. PROCESS CONTROL ASSISTANT LIME PLANT (Hay Band – I)
Chosen applicant’s duties will cover monitoring and operating pumps, prevent overflows/flooding, housekeeping, working on loading and offloading trucks and give assistance when required.
Minimum Requirements
- A completed Grade 12/Matric.
- Fundamental knowledge in water treatment process.
- Working safe.
Key duties include:
- Selecting of Slaker Bunkers and ensure all conditions are correct by measuring bunkers daily. Visually check limit switches, filling of bungers and off-loading of trucks
- Selection of conveyors to fill bunkers as requested by checking condition of conveyors and dust extraction units. Start sequence of conveyor and dust extraction unit Check for overloading of conveyor and report to operator. Cleaning of spillages from the conveyor.
- Monitoring and operating of sump pumps by stopping/starting pumps manually to prevent flooding of lime plant.
- Ensure that the Lime Plant is kept clean and all spillages to be cleaned immediately. Conduct general housekeeping duties in and around the Lime plant.
- Loading of trucks and assisting Driver to safely load and off load crushing Lime.
Skills and competencies:
- Aware of safety conditions
- Has housekeeping skills
- Excellent verbal Communication skills
- Is physically fit and strong

4. Protective Services Officer X 5 (Shift Work) (Hay Band-I)
Chosen applicants for the role of Protective Services Supervisor will offer protection services for Rand Water staff, assets and property.
Minimum Requirements to qualify are as follows:
- Successfully completed Grade 12 or equivalent qualifications.
- PSIRA and NKP registration
- At-least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Fire arm certificate
Key duties include patrolling, monitoring, inspection of visitors, vehicles or anything/anyone who comes through Rand Water and can deal with emergencies (crime, firefighting and other for of threats).
Skills desired by the company include being able work safely, managing inspections as required, communication skills (verbal and literature), can handle conflicts, is aware of dangers and has good client service skills.
