The Dry End Assistant will work closely with the Dryerman to guarantee the smooth functioning of the dryer, calendar, and pope, as well as the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of sample data.

You will be responsible for the following things as a Dry End Assistant:

Help clean up the broken spools that were returned from the winder by giving your assistance.
This will work in tandem with the entry of the tons into the PTS system, which will go hand in hand with it.

Help out with the cleaning of the dryer, calendar pope, and kitchen rail areas, both inside and outside of these areas.
Please let the shift superintendent know about any problems with the equipment.
The individual in charge of collecting samples and delivering them to the laboratory.
You are needed to assist with changing the ropes on the machine.
Contribute to the process of getting the clothing ready for the machine.

As needed, provide assistance on the winder in an ad hoc capacity.
Fill in for the dryerman whenever they need you to.
As needed or directed, provide assistance with the KLB paper machine shuts.
Assist in the feeding of paper after a break as well as in other areas within the Paper Mills’ jurisdiction that are not normally considered to fall under their functional remit.

Helps with the process of feeding paper slab onto the broken conveyor so that it can be repulped.

Check that each and every printout on each reel complies with the established criteria for mass and moisture content.

Required to perform a comparison of each reel against the established criteria, after which the shift superintendent must be notified in order to make a determination about the paper.

Make sure that the “HOLD” sign is placed on each and every web that needs to be retested.
In addition to that, samples of these webs have to be brought to the lab so that additional testing can be done.
Check that the appearance, coverage, formation, sizes, winding, barcoding, levels, slackness, stenciling, strapping, wrapping, creases, blotches, and dirt of each and every jumbo are as expected.

At the end of the shift, you should input all of the defective webs into the computer so that you can provide an accurate list of rejects.
Before winding the paper, enter the reel details into the winder PTS. If the paper is rejected, change the details after winding.
When the final product is produced, trail tape should be used to mark the trial reel.

What exactly are we trying to find?

N3 Pulp and Paper, or Matric with Math and Physical Science, whichever comes first.
Experience in production that is relevant ranging from 0 to 6 months
