Purpose of Position

To take in, organize, and direct all activities occurring in the security control room, including the analysis and supervision of any outsourced tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain all central Security Control Room surveillance systems in accordance with SOPs, applicable laws and best practices, and ensure their proper operation at all times.
Follow all established protocols, company policies, and SOPs to ensure the highest possible levels of privacy, protection, and legal observance.
Keep an eye on the security cameras and notify the head of security, the security firm, and the hospital administration if anything seems out of the ordinary.
Screen and analyze alerts accurately and thoroughly, identifying those that need to be investigated further by on-site security teams.

Make sure the Head of Security is receiving all exception reports so they can be properly investigated.
Keep in constant contact with the control room of the hired security firm.
Make sure that in the event of a security breach, all relevant law enforcement agencies (SAPS, Fire Department, Water and Sanitation Department, Emergency Medical Services) have a thorough understanding of the various escalation levels within their respective departments.
Work in tandem with appropriate emergency responders as needed.
Systematic and proactive monitoring of CCTV cameras to identify potential issues and alert appropriate hospital administration as soon as possible.

Maintain a fully operational control room, including recording and archiving video in accordance with CHG’s strict guidelines.
Verify that the Head of Security has approved any requests for access to CCTV footage.
Make sure that only those approved by the Head of Security have access to recorded CCTV footage.
If something breaks, you should let the Head of Security know so they can fix it.
Keep your CCTV footage secure and available at all times in accordance with all applicable laws.
Make sure that incidents are reported accurately by keeping track of alarm events, how long it takes for security contractors to respond, and how well they do their jobs once they arrive.
Make sure only authorized personnel, as determined by the Head of Security, are allowed access to the Security Control Room.

Experience and education requirements:

Matric/Grade 12 plus either a CCTV operator’s qualification or a security qualification.
PSIRA certification (Grade A) .
Two years’ worth of work in a related field.
