Description of the Job

The Dis-Chem Pharmacies Warehouse in Durban provides an opportunity for security guards to provide a security service in accordance with the Private Security Industry Regulations Act 56 of 2001 as amended for the Dis-Chem Group.
This service is designed to meet the security requirements of Dis-Chem, which include the protection of assets, property, and staff by establishing a safe and secure environment, recognizing signs of criminal activities or disorder, and conducting investigations of disturbances, all while adhering to legislation that is pertinent to the industry and best practices.

Minimum Prerequisites:

Matriculation or a Senior Certificate.
Accreditation from the PSIRA,Grade C.
A general minimum of three years of experience working in the retail industry, including a minimum of three years in warehouses and shopping malls

Favorable in that:

A minimum of one year of specific prior experience working in a role that is comparable

Description of the Job:

Maintain vigilance and awareness of your surroundings in order to recognize activities that appear to be suspicious, apprehend criminals, or remove violators in accordance with the legal authority invested in the industry and the standard operating procedures established by Dis-Chem for the particular post through.
The premises are subjected to random patrols on a regular basis in order to guarantee maximum visibility and minimize potential dangers.

The monitoring and control of access to the premises involves the documentation and regulation of entry into the site by vehicles or pedestrians’ access points.
This ensures that only individuals who have the appropriate authorization are permitted to enter the premises.
The best way to ensure that Dis-Chem’s assets are protected is to conduct an investigation, report any signs of damage or unlawful entry as soon as they appear to management, and promptly take appropriate action.

In order to discourage criminal activities, prevent theft, damage, personal injury, and other dishonorable acts, it is important to be clearly visible as much as possible.
This serves as a deterrent.
When you are receiving guests, customers, or employees, you should always be professional, courteous, and friendly.
You should also be approachable and willing to assist others.
