Job Advert Summary
This role is critical for the maintenance of the Sewer Pump Stations in optimal operating condition.
This includes the operation of pumps, the maintenance of manual screens, housekeeping, and inspections.
Informing the supervisor of any issues.
Minimum Requirement
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
- Six years of experience at a sewer pump station.
- Medically and physically strong.
Main Responsibilities
- Signing Pump Station Register
- Maintain a record of all pump readings (run hour meter)
- Maintains records of the levels of sumps.
- Inspect the inlet and outlet valves for their respective positions. Open the valves that require opening and close the valves that require closing.
- Daily Inspection of the Pump Station
- The screens should be cleaned twice daily or as needed.
- Pump obstructions are cleaned as needed.
- Record and submit a report of all defective equipment.
- Monitor the pumps that are currently in operation.

- Fundamental comprehension of the Sewer Pump Station.
- Rigging fundamentals.
- Fundamental comprehension of the principles of pressure, flow, and valves
- Workplace safety protocols
