Description of the Job

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Motorbike and Vehicle Driver to work at their Secunda Store currently.
When it comes to delivering products to customers, you will be responsible for doing so in a timely, productive, and professional manner.

Prerequisites:

Valid Matriculation
License to operate a motorcycle and/or License to operate a vehicle
Being willing and able to work shifts and/or hours in the retail industry

Description of the Job:

Transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe, and courteous manner while maintaining a safe environment.
Be open to learning about the various functions of the dispatch department.
In order to guarantee that the appropriate products are delivered to the appropriate customer within the allotted time, it is imperative that refrigerator line deliveries are given priority and that cooler boxes and cold packs are utilized for transportation.
If you want to get to the customer and back to the store, take the route that is the quickest and most efficient.

The vehicle should be returned to the store as soon as possible after the delivery has been completed so that it can be used for a second or third delivery.
After the delivery has been completed, it is imperative that the vehicle be repacked in order to prevent any boxes from falling and causing damage to either the stock or the vehicle.
Maintain complete responsibility for any and all losses and damages that occur during the delivery process.
Make sure to exercise extra caution when transporting fragile and potentially dangerous items.
In order to meet the standards set by the company, it is necessary to comply with the minimum standards of efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure that all collections, store returns, and inter-branch returns are correctly checked, signed for, and returned to the receiving area.
Follow the manager’s instructions regarding delivery and pickup.
Make certain that all of the delivery paperwork is signed upon delivery;
Make certain that the names and addresses of the customers are correct;
Make certain that all of the invoices that are recorded on the delivery log sheet are available and that they are recorded correctly;
Make sure that all of the invoices are signed in the appropriate manner; and make sure that any discrepancies are reported to the appropriate manager.

Always act in accordance with the company’s policy regarding vehicles.
Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook and ensure that it is completed.
Complete the processing of payments for all transactions using electronic funds transfer and cash. During the delivery process, the vehicle should never be left unattended.
Make sure that the vehicle has been washed and cleaned.
Before, during, and after trips, conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle to identify any flaws and ensure that it is in a safe operating condition. Report any concerns to the manager.
Be responsible for any traffic fines that are assigned to the vehicle you drive. Create effective and efficient relationships with both internal and external customers in order to improve operational efficiencies.

Report on any and all accidents and incidents that involve drivers or company equipment. Adhere to the rules and regulations of road traffic as outlined in the National Road Traffic Act.
By providing prompt and courteous service, you can establish a long-term relationship with your customers.
Maintain an appropriate level of professionalism when interacting with clients.
Complaints, compliments, and requests from customers should be reported to management, and feedback should be provided.

Abilities such as:

Highly proficient in the use of the English language
Presentable in appearance
Establishing productive relationships with clients, management, and employees
Administration of time that is trustworthy and honest
Do not hesitate to report any inappropriate or suspicious behavior involving either the staff or the customers.

Provisions of employment that are not standard:

Being willing and able to work shifts and/or hours in the retail industry
Willing and able to work outside, in a variety of weather conditions, and in diverse environments
Ability to lift and move heavy boxes while maintaining a high level of physical fitness and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
The driver’s license must be valid (code A1)
Either have access to dependable transportation or live in close proximity to the store
A citizen of South Africa
Having a clean criminal record and credit file
