Thorburn Security is looking to hire a self-starter with a high level of motivation to fill the role of a Traffic Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities
Manage on-road incidents and obstructions or conditions, and communicate with other service providers to provide information. Working within established procedures, take the appropriate action to contribute to a road network that is both safe and effective.
Locate and report potentially hazardous conditions or activities in accordance with established protocols in order to support the free flow of vehicular traffic.
Support emergency services so that they can effectively carry out their duties, and thereby ensure proper coordination of those services.
Respond to and resolve reported incidents on the road (such as collisions, animals, and pedestrians) within the parameters of established procedures and safety standards in order to provide an effective service.
Communicate using a variety of technologies such as radio and mobile telephony in order to provide colleagues, partners, and customers with accurate and timely scene updates.
To ensure that there is a record that is both accurate and easily accessible, you must make sure that all of the required information relating to incidents and risk assessments is recorded using the appropriate documentation.
Capable of accurately capturing, recording, and relaying information while using appropriate technology and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Abilities and Proven Capabilities
Customers should be provided with on-road services, such as assistance in the event of vehicle breakdowns or minor collisions, so that the police can carry out their duties effectively.
A familiarity with the working environment and the procedures to be followed.
A familiarity with the various emergency services for traffic officers and road operators
Qualifications
A familiarity with the regulations governing traffic control
Awareness of the Need for Emergency Assistance
A valid driver’s license, valid for both automobiles and motorcycles
