The date of expiration is January 2, 2024.
It is the responsibility of the Underground Boilermaker to ensure that all assigned maintenance, repair, construction, and fabrication tasks are carried out in a secure manner on the surface and underground shaft infrastructure, ground handling systems, conveyances, and winders.
The incumbent is obligated to carry out all of the tasks that have been assigned to them in accordance with the operational safety standards and procedures that have been established in order to guarantee the highest possible availability of engineering equipment.
Certain Minimum Prerequisites:
Matric certificate or its equivalent
Certification in the Boilermaker Trade That Is Recognized
A minimum of two years of experience working as a boilermaker in construction or work related to shaft maintenance
Demonstration of expertise in the fabrication and construction of pipes and other underground structures
The ability to read, interpret, and carry out work based on engineering drawings has been demonstrated.
A risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre will determine whether or not the applicant is medically fit for the position and environment.
Additionally, the applicant must satisfy the requirements of a Heat Tolerance Screening test, as well as any other tests that may be necessary to determine whether or not they are suitable for employment.

Obligations and the Responsibilities:
The application of applicable standards and procedures in the planning, risk assessment, and execution of maintenance activities is necessary in order to guarantee the health and safety of both the individual and the members of the team.
Inspections should be carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Mine Health and Safety Act as well as the standards of the company.
By adhering to all requirements as outlined by legislation, health, safety, environmental, and security policies and procedures, as well as by applying specific instructions to one’s own work area and the completion of tasks, one can make a contribution to a culture at which there is no harm.
As a leader of an effective team, you should encourage and cultivate teamwork.
For the purpose of ensuring that the planning and execution of tasks are in accordance with the standards for planned maintenance and condition monitoring, as well as ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure that the daily maintenance on the boxes, steel works, 18-ton hoppers, locos, and other equipment is carried out in a secure and timely manner.
Ensure the safe execution of breakdown repairs as assigned, as well as providing assistance with construction and expansion tasks
Examine and repair the infrastructure and shafts, both on a scheduled basis and on an ad hoc basis, and participate in these activities.
