Food Service Aid Requirements:
NQF level 1 or 2 (Abet level 2 certificate or equivalent).
Reading and writing skills are required.
Food Service Aid Knowledge and abilities :
Necessary for the preparation of basic foods.
Fundamental guidelines for cleanliness and security.
Competence in the art of communication.
Abilities to work effectively in a group setting.
Having the ability to identify problems.
Capability to carry out tasks that are routine or structural in nature.
Capability to operate various pieces of equipment used in food service.
Able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Food Service Aid Duties:
The food service unit is responsible for the labeling, packing, and distribution of the prepared menu items. In accordance with the menus and the recipes, prepare the meals and portion them out.
Establish quality control procedures for the foods that have been prepared.
Make use of the appliances found in the home in order to complete cleaning tasks and operate more specialized machinery.
Attention to detail, tidiness, and cleanliness.
Put on the correct uniform and any necessary protective clothing.
Make sure that you are aware of the precautions that need to be taken when using specialized equipment.
