SECURITY OFFICER REQUIREMENTS:
Senior Certificate or Grade 12 Education along with a Grade C Security Certificate (PSIRA).
Twelve months’ worth of experience in the security industry.
A familiarity with the Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act
The Evacuation procedures, the Minimum Information Security Standards
The Procedures of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority, the Batho Pele Principles, the Public Service Regulations Act, and the Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Communication (both orally and in writing),
Interpersonal Relations, Problem Solving, Listening,
Computer Literacy, Planning and organizing, and Analytical Capabilities are Skills.
SECURITY OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage who goes in and who goes out of the provincial Office and the Labor Center (Daily),
Daily duties include conducting security patrols of the building and offices to ensure the safety of employees and clients;
Daily duties also include conducting internal investigations and enforcing security rules and regulations; Daily duties also include securing the flow of information and assets within the Labour Centre and a Provincial Office (Daily).
